- Access Adjusting Button: Remove the dust cover or metal cover on the end of the damper to reveal the adjusting button.
- Secure the Damper: Hold the damper body with one hand near the piston rod. Use a vice or clamp if necessary, but only at the lower attachment end. With the damper fully extended, press and hold the adjusting button with one hand while turning the piston rod with the other.
- Adjustment Stops: The adjusting device has distinguishable stops (clicks) that mark adjustment positions, such as for 26 and 30 series dampers, which have 3 and 4 positions respectively.
- Confirm Zero Position: Before adjusting, ensure the damper is at the zero position (unadjusted state) by turning the piston rod to the left (counterclockwise) until a zero-stop is felt. Avoid using excessive force.
- Increase Rebound: To increase rebound, turn the piston rod to the right (clockwise) by one or more clicks, then release the adjusting button.
- Reset the Adjusting Button: Ensure the adjusting button springs back into position fully. Do not turn the piston rod while the button is depressed to avoid disturbing the adjustment. Once the button returns, the piston rod can be turned freely, and the damper can be refitted.
